Need
- Fire occurred from smoking and water from fire departments userd to put out the blaze caused tremendous damage to one unit, which quickly spread to 4 more adjoining units for total of 5 needing complete overhaul. This also triggered upgrades for code compliance including spinkler system design and installation, along with pressure valves, gates and complete electrical panel upgrades in the mechanical room of each unit affected.
Solution
- Permits pulled and worked with state insurance adjuster for the Lowell housing authority to stay on budget and recreate existing amenities while upgrading areas that could not be replaced with the original. Work completed: Complete cabinetry designs and layouts for 5 units, along with complete envelope upgrades / new roof sheathing and shingles / venting for bath and kitchen / insulation of entire attic, walls and rockwool for fire code barrier walls between units / VCT flooring / tile bathrooms and tubs / heating systems / electrical plugs lights and switches / painting / window replacement / deep cleaning / sprinkler testing and inspections / service changes with National grid PO
