This whole-home renovation focuses on transforming the kitchen, living room, and hallway into a more functional, modern living space. Although homeowners often notice the cabinets, countertops, and flooring, much of the most important work happens behind the walls long before those finishing touches are installed.
Building a Strong Foundation
After obtaining all required permits, construction began approximately one month ago. The new kitchen layout has been finalized, the cabinetry has been ordered, and our team has been steadily working through each phase of construction.
Several major milestones have already been completed, including:
- Electrical rough-in completed and approved through inspection.
- Plumbing rough-in completed and approved.
- Structural LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) beam installation completed and inspected.
- Fire caulking and insulation inspections successfully passed.
Each inspection ensures the project meets current building codes and provides confidence that the renovation is being completed safely and correctly.
What’s Next?
With the structural and mechanical work complete, the project now moves into the finishing stages.
The next phase includes installing drywall and repairing existing plaster, followed by additional attic insulation to improve the home’s energy efficiency. Once the surfaces are ready, ceilings will receive their finish coat before the walls are primed. Applying primer at this stage allows our painters to identify even the smallest imperfections so they can be corrected before the final paint is applied.
From there, the project will continue with:
- Interior trim installation around doors and windows
- Final wall and trim painting
- Flooring installation throughout the remodeled areas
- Cabinet installation
- Countertop templating and fabrication
- Countertop and sink installation
- Electrical finish work, including fixtures and cover plates
- Final plumbing connections, including the kitchen sink, refrigerator water line, and heating components
- Cabinet hardware installation
- Appliance installation

The Importance of the Punch List
One phase many homeowners don’t realize is just how valuable professional cleaning is before project completion.
Once construction is substantially complete, professional cleaners thoroughly clean every surface. During this process, they often identify the small details that are easy to overlook during active construction—minor paint touch-ups, missing caulking, cabinet adjustments, flooring transitions, threshold details, or tile finishing.
This creates a comprehensive punch list that allows our team to make every final adjustment before the project is considered complete.
Our painters then perform any final touch-ups, caulking, or cabinet color-stick repairs, ensuring the finished product looks as polished as it was designed to be.
Finishing the Project Right
Before turning the project over to the homeowners, we complete every required final inspection, including:
- Electrical final inspection
- Plumbing final inspection
- General contractor final inspection and permit sign-offs
We also conduct our own detailed quality review, checking cabinet operation, appliance functionality, heating and cooling systems, thermostats, paint finishes, trim, and every other aspect of the renovation. Any remaining punch-list items are addressed before completion.
Only after every inspection has been passed and every detail has been completed do we deliver the keys, along with copies of the completed permits, giving the homeowners confidence that their renovation was built to last.
